Thought this might interest folks. Winter is coming and it's been a very bad year for haying in VT and the northeast, generally:
Vermont Hay Bank
The mission of the Hay Bank is to provide established horse rescue organizations, sanctuaries, law enforcement agencies, and horse owners facing financial hardship with temporary hay and feed assistance; and further, to assist such entities and individuals in planning for the future.
Our resources are limited and we review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. In order to help as many people and horses as we can, we have developed a process to ensure a positive outcome for all involved. The process is described in the VEWC Brochure, Helping People/Saving Horses.

Didn't they have a trailer at the NEDA Fall Festival right after Irene? I remember donating hay at that show....
