We had a great ride, only a few deerflies in Thanksgiving Forest! Perfect day, love riding weekdays and love retirement.

Any recommendations for which trails to ride when visiting Great Brook for the first time? I looked at the map and it's overwhelming!

Just follow the numbers for a 6-mile (roughly) loop.

So, from the Hart barn (where you'll park; you don't want to go down North Road to the main pedestrian parking lot), start at 1, and then follow around 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. through to 24, which will put you back at the Hart Barn, having done a perimeter circle of the park. Bring the map with you, as the trails can be confusing. The intersections can be confusing -- the intersection will be marked with the number, but, it can be hard to know which way which trail goes, from the intersection. Keep an eye on the blazes on the trails. But, you really can't go wrong; you just might go in a few circles, but, no big deal. Avoid Stone Row and Indian Hill for your first time (they're steeper and rockier). Avoid trails that say "you are now leaving the park" and avoid trails that are marked for no cyclist, no horses.
