If this is not allowed on the board, administrators please delete.

Memom's precious Lady Jane was seriously injured at a trail ride on Sunday, Labor Day weekend. They have been trail partners for 13 years. The hope is that she will heal enough to be retired.

We have set up a go fund me account to help with the huge vet bills.

Lady Jane continues to be a trooper of a patient thanks to our wonderful barn owner Karleen and her fabulous barnmate Holly. We started short hand grazing and stitches come out Friday. Lots of granulation which Iím told is a good sign. Keep the well wishes coming please.

Yayyyyyy! That's a great sign...but also have to balance the production of granulation so it doesn't become an issue itself. Glad to hear things are looking up!

Notice the granular tissue. That's what fills the wound in and in most cases smooths out as it closes in. My old horse Q tee from several years ago, wouldn't even know she had an injury now.

Another one, about 20 years ago. After the hair grew back it was hardly noticeable and he was sound.

Another one healing by secondary intentions. He rubbed on a small bolt on a gate hinge. He ate the flap of skin off and healed on his own. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Sb9fa8Uzq98XZbmn7

Thursday was day 25 and Dr Mike from Mass Equine came for recheck.Said Lady Janeís wound healing fantastic more like a 3 yr old than almost 26. Putting weight on hoof, pasture sound and maybe short walk rides in the future looking good.

The longer rides will come as she feels better. She'll let you know when she's ready for more than being a lady of leisure.

Ahh, memomÖÖ. in no time we will have you joining us on our "gimps, wimps, and geriatrics" rides. How proud that will make you feel! :-) You tell Miss Lady Jane that Noble loves girls. (Personally, I think he is still looking for his Mommy, at age 20.) So glad she is doing well. I must say that I never had any doubt that she would bring her inherent class and Arab mare magic to even this challenge.

Thanks Sharon. When I was hooking up the trailer today she put on quite the show thinking she was going! Back to the stall to calm down. There will be no jumping out of her outdoor 12x12 pipe stall! No cantering in place either!!

Now that Lady Jane is healing so well and done bandaging sheís graduated to a 24x24 pipe stall outside when the other 2 are out. Sheís handling it well BUT when we take the other 2 off property to ride she has to be inside stalled or sheíll get really wound up. When I start to hook up the trailer she hollers and spins so inside with hay she goes. Has anyone a suggested calming supplement for theses occasions? Weíve had to resort to giving her 3ace. She is on Smartpak R&R and I think thatís helping wound recovery but sheís always been a go-go Arabian and thinks sheís 6 instead of almost 26!
